A law graduate from Taiwan's National Chengchi University, Chew became a full-time artist in 1983. Famous around the region, Chew's watercolours, oil paintings and Chinese inks portray the livelihoods of the indigenous people of Sarawak. Having been involved heavily in solo exhibitions for more than 30 times, both locally and overseas. His works are exhibited in Japan, Poland, USA, South Korea, Taiwan and China.
